16" X 12" Oil on linen canvas
Howth Yacht Club were kind enough to allow me to paint from their balcony. The man in the painting spent all afternoon applying coloured stripes to the hull. The weather was changeable, so the skies were brooding. Ireland's Eye and Lambay Island are in the background.
Sailors popped over to see how I was getting on, and I at one point I had a ring of children pushing their chairs ever closer and closer. I warned the mother that the oil paint wasn't easy to remove, but she seemed quite happy to take the risk. After a while the children disappeared, but they came back later to check up on my progress.
