Leenane/Leenaun is in the heart of Connemara. It was a little risky planning to do plein air there in the middle of October, but the sun shone brightly, and I ended up taking my painting coat off. Unheard of for Ireland at this time of year. The tide came in as I painted, so this painting is almost of a series of moments, totally unlike a photo, which is a single instant in time.
